The Meaning of the Sabbath
December 24, 2009"And Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. John 5:17 . " God works on Saturdays as well as on other days, keeping the universe and its infinite mechanism in place. He works in providence, watching and taking care of all his creation. Therefore Christ's at His coming, healed on the Sabbath, gave food to the hungry, and performing acts of mercy and love. This is the true spirit of Sabbath observance, we must recognize is that if one day above all others (Rom. 14.5,6). We must not rest in indolence or simply relax from physical and mental toil, but we must follow the divine example and "do good in the days of rest"
